An Abstract on “An (abstr)Act of Creation”

I just completed a solo exhibition curated by Moira Corby at Ninch Cider Gallery (Instagram account Dave Nelson @ninchcider for pics). Ninch Cider Gallery is located in Nubeena on the Tasman Penin(ch)sula. The show was entitled “An (abstr)Act of Creation”. What a great place to have a show! It was on for a month of Fridays and Saturdays - Just over March that is!

The exhibition showed processes I've used in making abstract work. It included posters of drawings, writing & prose used in the development of work over approx the past 15 years and included both partially and completed pieces.

8 works sold out of 20 works exhibited. The fact that I hadn’t completed 3 of the works means that just under half the works sold. Considering the size of Nubeena I reckon that’s a great outcome.

A few opportunities have come out of the exhibition which I’m looking forward to watch them bear fruit!
